The Medicine River Wildlife Centre works to rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned wild animals from across Alberta. MRWC currently treats close to 1000 animals annually. One very important facet of the mandate of MWRC is public education. The centre conducts numerous public education programs in our education facility, speaks to visitors to the centre, and presents informative programs in schools and nearby communities. All together, we interact with more than 12,000 people annually.

The Centre is involved in the following activities to help wildlife:

Providing care for injured or orphaned wildlife with the aim of returning them to the wild.

Promoting an understanding and respect of wildlife through an educational program available to schools, youth groups, and other interested organizations.

Promoting a cooperative effort between individuals and private or public agencies to benefit wildlife.

The preservation, conservation and enhancement of natural habitat.
