As soon as possible, contact the Medicine River Wildlife Centre. Call (403) 728-3467. If you get a message centre, please inform us of your name, phone number and location. Let us know your situation and someone will return your call shortly. Keeping the animal for any length of time is not only illegal, but can be detrimental for it's recovery. We ask you to help with the transport, although we do have volunteers that help with pick-ups almost anywhere in Alberta. PLEASE DO NOT FEED ANY WILD ANIMAL HUMAN FOOD OF ANY DESCRIPTION. Human food may cause more harm than good. An animal may be severely emaciated and starving to death. Giving the animal food may cause it to use its last remaining bit of energy to break down the food before it can be of benefit. Even if the animal is not starving to death, human food may also cause the animal harm. |
