Fostering Fur and Feathers - When you adopt a wild animal at the Medicine River Wildlife Centre, you will receive:
- A colour photo of the animal
- Information about the species you have adopted
- Patient information about the newest member of your family
- A frameable certificate naming you as the foster parent of a special wild animal
- A copy of the Centre's most recent newsletter
As a foster parent, you will be able to make an appointment to visit the Wildlife Centre and see your adopted animal. Why Adopt? The adoption of a wild animal gives you or a close friend or family member the opportunity to share in the experience of helping a wild animal. With your adoption you will also learn about wild animals and better appreciate their role in our province's wild lands.
Your connection to an injured wild animal can provide enjoyment year round. Knowing that you have helped to return your animal to its natural home can give you a source of pride and accomplishment.
By adopting an animal at the Medicine River Wildlife Centre, you have the opportunity to support that animal's return to the wild. Your adoption of a wild animal will help with day-to-day expenses such as food and medicine.
By becoming a foster parent, you will help a wild animal return to the wild where it belongs. All proceeds from your adoption will go directly to the hospital operations of the Medicine River Wildlife Centre.
