One dripping wet and very stinky owl arrived. Due to lack of facilities at the Centre itself (the renovations can't come too soon), the owl was taken to our ED's home bathroom for a warm shower. Once cleaned off, it was treated for stress and put in a small box on heat so the feathers could dry. It didn't take long before we had a lovely looking, very angry owl. It will only be a few more days of recovery and he’ll be on his way home... and likely never to try hunting those ducks again!
A Stinky Situation
We received a call from the Winfield area on October 14. A wet, cold, and dirty owl had been found in a domestic duck pen, unable to fly. It was perfect timing as our Facility Manager, who lives in that area, would be driving to the Centre that morning.
