The 2026 intern application process is now OPEN.
The Medicine River Wildlife Centre’s internship program offers students a unique, hands-on opportunity to work in every area of wildlife rehabilitation and outreach. Interns gain experience in patient care, facility maintenance, education programming, fostering implementation and research, as well as public relations. MRWC also provides a dedicated leadership and teamwork program to help students build confidence and professional skills.
Interns are unpaid but provided with housing, uniforms, work and safety clothing, WiFi, a vehicle for local shopping and tourism, comprehensive training, and a certificate of completion. Recreational equipment—including camping gear, mountain bikes, canoes, a BBQ, and fire pits—is also available for intern use.
3, 4, and 5 month commitment opportunities are available. Participants are expected to supply their own footwear, food, fuel for personal travel, and most importantly, plenty of enthusiasm, hard work, and a strong team spirit.
