Networking with Others

Medicine River Wildlife Centre has always been a promoter of networking and working in co-operation with other professionals.

This year we are pleased to be working closer with the Edmonton Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. The facility, now known as Wild North, operates out of both a triage facility in north Edmonton and a wildlife hospital north of Spruce Grove.

The two Centres have talked quite regularly and when Wild North had an abundance of fox kits, we offered to help by taking several and find foster homes to place the kits back into the wild. We are fortunate to have several land owners who love the fox on their property and call us annually to offer a foster site for our orphans. Our Centre received only one fox kit this year so we were more than happy to share our resources and skills.
